Many local colleges and universities require that their nursing students attend support groups as part of their education.
We welcome nursing students to our meetings. Someday, we figure, you could be our nurse and we want you to have the best information that you can on our disorders so you can help us better.
We only ask that you give no feedback to the members of the group. (We have had nursing students who have no knowledge of the members give out inappropriate or confrontative advice to people.) Unless you have bipolar disorder, depression, or schizoaffective disorder, please wait until the end of the meeting.
After everyone has shared, we will give you the opportunity to ask questions of the group. We are happy to share our experiences so you can gain a greater insight of our condition. So, have one or two to ask. We love answering.
There is no need to ask permission to come.
